Every time I see a Leo fireman correctional officer or someone with a PI beef and everything is blamed on this or that I have to wonder.Dont get me wrong I have huge respect for Individuals of service. However for everyone of them there are a hundred poor guys who have busted their butts pounding nails or laying concrete for a living and are really old before their time. Most of them are tough, don’t complain and don’t blame others for their problems. Spine disease is complex and there are many pain generators, structural changes with neurological implications and each has to be factored. The comment contextually about the neurmodulation stimulator implant is just ridiculous.Guys if you have back or neck problems with or without limb symptoms get to a qualified physician (there are many specialties, neurologists, neurosurgeons, spine ortho PMR etc)that can guide and help you.Unfortunately while surgery is a last resort many times it is the only reasonable option for the issue to stabilize neurological function. AND realize you are never going to be 25 yo again.every procedure has its downside and benefits. I don’t intend to offend anyone here. Just wanted to impart some words of wisdom.
I appreciate what you are trying to say here, but the point where you write and I quote "most of them are tough, dont complain and dont blame others" is ridiculous. Yes my work and past have something to do with my surgeries, but that doesnt make me weak. I dont blame anyone, or my job. Its just a fact. And yes, many guys do my job as a UPS driver for years without any injuries. God bless them. I consider them lucky. For me, I dont want to live with the pain. I know I will never be 25 again, but being relatively pain free should be expected. I hope you dont have any of these problems, and never do.

Good thought. No one will know what is like unless they have to go through it. What I wouldn't give to go to bed and not be in pain every night. I sure took that for granted!

Ok I knew I would irritate some folks with my opinions but I still am an expert and even after all I have been thru am still a proponent of surgical intervention appropriately applied. My only intent was to comment on those who blame this or that in isolation for mulifactoral causation esp when quasi industrial or PI injuries are invoked.Me personally I have no callouses on my hands and am a professional not a laborer tho I am no stranger to hard work; and yes I know quite well what you guys are dealing with. I live with chronic debilitating back pain daily. Had just about every complication from back surgery a year ago.Simple lumbar laminectomy followed by pars fracture one mo post op.Drove bone fragment into dura, ripped it with dural leak and csf fisula. That means I had spinal fluid coming out my back.Had severe headache. second op to repair leak and then epidural hematoma requiring emergency surgery to keep me from being a paraplegic.4 major spine procedures in 5 weeks. So I’m not someone not walking the walk.Hindsite is 20/20.I would have done some things differently but I don’t regret the initial surgery because I knew I needed it.No more personal posts for me. I truly wish the best for all you guys. Stay healthy and safe.
