Default Aftermarket Supercharging??

Is there a concern regarding longevity? The 6.2 LT1 has internal parts that are different than the 6.2 LT4. Crank, Rods, Pistons, valave springs etc, to handle the increased horspower. Does Callaway, edelbrock address any of these facts when purchasing and installing a supercharger on a stock LT1???

All can be done at a price. Depending on how much power you want to make it's always safer to have a built bottom end with a bit lower compression than stock.

Weak part of the LT1 is the pistons. I believe it has forged crank and rods, but even the pistons are good for around 750 whp. Thats a lot more the power then 627 crank hp Callaway or even the 660 crank hp stage 2 Edelbrock E Force.

LT1 has forged crank, powder forged rods (not the same as regular forging) and hypereutectic piston (weak). Stock crank and rods are good up to about 1,000 rwhp. Pistons are good up to 700rwhp. If your trying to push your luck you can try squeezing 750, but I wouldn't..

GM didn't change all those components in the LT4 because it had nothing better to do. Granted, factories are notorious for being cautious but often for good reason... for one, they cannot control the loose nut behind the wheel.
