That button temporarily disables the internal sensors of the alarm. Keeps the alarm from going off if someone is still in the car, or if you have the top off/down.

Motion/intrusion alarm button. If you press it, the alarm is deactivated until you start the car again.
It's for when you leave a person or a pet inside the car and still want the doors locked, or if you need to tow or jack up the vehicle.

That disarms the rocket launchers. Whatever you do, DO NOT touch that button

Like the time I towed my car with my car hauler and the alarm kept going off and I thought the only way to solve it was to keep car unlocked. Thanks for info.

Someone said that is true only for the 2LT/LZ and 3LT/LZ cars.
As you know, if someone isn't sure about their car, they can remove/lower the top and look in the driver side positioning pin hole on top of the w/s frame. If they have the automatic disabling, they can see a small microswitch in there. Mine has a red ring on it.

If the cover won't close with that lighter in it, is there any lighter (Preferably GM) that
will allow the lighter to close?
I don't smoke and don't allow others to smoke in our cars, but out in the boonies it can be nice to have a built-in source of igniting things.
Come to think of it, is there a GM ashtray for the C7?
Probably uses the cup holder space, but maybe not.
