Just purchased my 3rd C7 (2018, don't know why now). Had problems with every one. The 14, the belt tensioner, but dealer wouldn't believe me until I brought them the GM Memo, the 16, power steering went three times, the third time dealer had the car for a month while they looked for a new manufacture to make the gear and now this one, 300 miles one it and engine light on and remote start doesn't work. Been driving these cars for 50 years and this will be the last! Can't wait to see the problems with the mid-engine.
No excuse for crap like this.
Thankfully warranty covers any out of pocket, while car's unusable.
Hopefully this isn't serious, easily fixed.
In your shoes I'd keep a book on it in case Lemon Law comes into play.
Damned shame, this is supposed to be the 'honeymoon' for a new owner, nevermind GM's premiere marque.
Sooner it's fixed sooner you can enjoy what you paid for. G/L
Considering that I have had one C7 for two years with no major issues.
As for remote start not working I suspect that is because the engine light is on. The engine light indicates there is an issue with controlling the engine properly so remote start is more than likely prohibited as a safety measure.
One thing you do by trading for new cars is put yourself back on the downhill slope of the bathtub curve as far as infant mortality failures. Newly made products have a well known history of failing more often than products that have been used and aged for a time. That is why new cars come with warranties. That is why you don't buy the TV in the box but the one that has been a store display for a couple of months.

It's very unusual when someone has problems with 3 cars that are the same model, but it happens with every brand. I did some customer relations work for Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche, and encountered folks that had just as many problems with their cars. Then there are those folks like me that are just lucky. I owned 2 C4's, 3 C5's, 5 C6's and currently a 2016 C7. Never a problem! It's just life.

Hmm, my 2nd C7. The September 2013 built Z51 had zero problems. Was back to the dealer twice. Early on to check the diff fluid level per a GM letter. It was fine. Second time was just before I sold it to have the seatbelt software updated.
Had my 8 month old Grand Sport back once to have the alignment adjusted to my specs. That was on GM’s dime.
Sorry about all this, but as I've noted before, those with issues speak up and rightly so. Conversely, the many multitudes more who do not have problems remain silent giving a very skewed indication of the vehicle... or, whatever else is involved.
I have had my 2014 for nearly four years. With the exception of a couple of low level recalls, my only issue has been an annoying clicking sound in the convertible top whenever I raise or lower it. Dealer insists it is "normal, even demonstrating the same sound emanating from a brand new convertible in the showroom. Otherwise, that's it. This car has been simply amazing...
Should have kept the 2014.... My 2014 is still running great..
I did just replace the belt tensioner last week because it was leaking fluid, but it has never been back to the dealer for other repairs (except air bag reprogram)..
I did get tired of the fuel door clicking all the time, and to prevent actuator failure I just removed it...Did that myself so no biggie.

This is bad!! You always read about never to buy a first or second year new model. But we are into 2018 models and still are hearing about all these issues with the C7.
My 14 Z51 vert was flawless except the battery went out at 2 years and was replaced for free. My 17 Z06 has been flawless also so I believe its just the luck of the draw.

You know why, because you love Corvettes.
Perhaps this one will be your best yet!
I'd bring a rabbit's foot with me the next time I get a vette as it seems like you have had just bad luck with your vettes. I have no problems with my 15 and the general consensus is they are pretty reliable outside of the a8 trans issues.

Funny we use a rabbit's foot for good luck but it wasn't so lucky for the rabbit
ok I will chime in, I have my 2014 z51 for almost 4 years, had to take it back about 3 times for recall stuff like the airbag, seat-belt, radiator, gas cap and some minor paint issues but I got to say I must be one of those lucky ones cause otherwise its been a great car and even greater since I threw on an A&A Corvette SC on it last march 2017. I am still driving it with a smile on my face with the added HP.
OP sorry about your issues.
What I find troubling about GM is their ability to keep their head in the sand. Lets look back,
1) Remember the C5 steering column lock problems....GM never solved that problem had bobbed and weaved their way out of recalls.
2) Z06 valve train issues.... a lot of these cars had problems with LOW mileage
3) The AFM/auto engine sucks... and its not just in the Corvette... it with the Silverado, Escalade too.
My AFM Silverado runs like crap w/15K miles and everytime I take it in I get a run around that never solves anything.
Its one thing to have issues with a car, it another for the manufacture to run and hide.
