I was at the museum on December 19th. According to employees there, the first Sebring Orange with Museum Delivery will not happen until about the middle of January.
Based upon the lack of sightings, it's likely they haven't begun painting production cars in SO yet, but will start in early Jan. My November order has a TPW of 1/15 and another above ordered in Oct is a 1/1 TPW.
It also sounds like the factory is about to get very orange in January. It makes sense that they paint in batches.
They haven't had a popular orange in a long time. The previous C6 and C7 oranges were too "rusty" or "burnt orange" and didn't interest me. I think this one will be more popular a la the iconic "Hugger Orange" from the 60s. More vibrant colors do seem to be making a comeback.
Regardless, I don't care how popular it is. I took a leap of faith based upon pictures, and if it's the color I think it is, I'll be happy.
I didn't say it was like "Hugger Orange," but a that it is a brighter shade of orange than we've seen in the recent past, and that I expect it to be more popular than previous shades, just as "Hugger" was popular.
I wish it was a non-metallic color, but what I've seen pleased me enough to place an order.
Very true . . . but brighter colors do seem to be trending up. We'll see, but I only hope I like it as much as I expect to. It's relative popularity doesn't concern me at all.
