I'm not such a fan of All Seasons. I think they're sort of ok in all situations, but not actually great in any of them. I much prefer the summer/winter swap. So, I have done enough research that I made a note to get the Pirelli SottoZero tires. I wonder if I could get them as part of my purchase price...

I would stay with the Stingray vs GS or Z that has all the skirts to destroy. The C7 comes with the skid bars in front on all of them. This is a photo of mine being built coming down the line. You can see the skids

Nice pic of car!

All C7's come with what Chevy calls a "radiator support" as they perform that function but they also perform the skid pad function (they did not have to stick down to be radiator supports.)

See my Post #10 where I show pics of the plastic FANGs I installed on my 2014 C7 Z51 and my Grand Sport to help protect them. Hit them at least once with my 2014 Z51- no damage.

That aluminum scraping on pavement makes the rubber air dam noise sound like music! If damage an expensive repair!

Doubt it! You'll have to look hard to get them! They are made in Europe and for a while Tirerack was not carrying them. I believe they do now and will recommended them for a Z06/Grand Sport.

I agree with Winter tires where needed. In CT had a Dodge Colt Turbo and that front wheel drive was not great on ice! Many a day I was using the emergency brake with the button pushed in as I drove down hills on the CT/NY boarder! When driving aggressively, that was also a fun way to turn in the summer! The front would understeer and you just brought the rear around with the emergency brake!

I bought 4 Gislaved Swedish tires, with "Hydroponic" compound that was supposed to work better on ice to just below freezing-it did! Did a plus one with wider 14 inch wheels and Pirelli P7's for most of the year and put those Gislaved's on the 13 inch OEM wheels for Winter!

Then moved South and needed a car with air conditioning so bought my first Vette!

I fail to see how anyone is going to be able to give you a meaningful answer to your question, at least as proffered. You simply must be careful and doing so will, in all likelihood, become second nature to you in fairly short order.

If I may, I would liken it to starting to ride a motorcycle on the road. It takes constant (or near) vigilance and judgement. You will not avoid everything but you will get a pretty good feel for what the car will tolerate gracefully and otherwise in short order.

Hence, just drive and ENJOY the d**ned thing... it's just a car, despite all. Happy Holidays, as well!!!
