No snow in Eastern SC but when it rains the wife's SUV leaves puddles (the Vette seldom is driven in the rain and the street rod never!)

If it's heavy rain I use a push broom and push puddles out the door if doesn't evaporate in ~day. Most times it's gone before that is necessary.

I do have the front of the Vette and SUV covered with a 4X3 plastic composite pad designed to absorb AC water drips. The bottom is impervious to water and the ribbed top just helps it evaporate. One is visible in pic in post #19 under the saw where the SUV is usually parked. Floor is very functional, use and electric blower occasionally and each year or two use a sponge mop with a floor cleaning solution.

SwissTrax RibTrax flooring.

Non slippery when wet, and any dirt, etc falls through to the concrete floor below. I vacuum it about once a year with my shop vac, and it picks up 90% or more of what fell through.

LOVE this stuff....... I also looked at, and got a sample of Racedeck's flow through product, but liked this MUCH better as it's thicker and you can't see through to the concrete hardly at all.

I didn't actually consider the poly coating, mainly because I wanted something a little less permanent....but that looks really good

That is pretty good looking, and a bit more along the lines of what I had in mind. Did you have to use any type of adhesive when you put it down? Any issues with it getting wet (like w/ growing mold or funky odors?) Looks like it's wall to wall...so I'm not certain it would work in my case...my brewery takes up part of my garage so spills are par for the course.

Looks pretty sweet w/ the black/grey/white combo. Vette's not bad to look at either...i ended up going white as well. Can't wait for it to get here the 28th Just had the windows tinted. Been considering adding some vinyl to it to cut up the white a bit.

I have Race Deck on the areas that are for the drivers. It is installed over floor drains so I've opted for the style that has slots. For the 'Vettes that are stored I just have them on thick indoor/outdoor carpet. Name: Attach14908_20171224_142558.jpg

I used Race Deck and my floor has been down 14 years now. This past summer I got tired of the 80 white tiles that had browned over time by tires so I ordered 80 Alloy tiles and switched them out...took me about 2 hours to change out the 80 tiles. I like the new color combination and the Alloy tiles doesn't seem to want to turn brownish from the tires. If I was going to do the entire floor over I would move to the flow through tiles because I just like that look better.

The floor has been down 17 years, and it isn't very worn considering it acts as my auto workshop, woodworking shop and stores the Corvettes.
I use carpet runners on the wheel paths to keep the surface in better condition - avoid pebbles and road dirt from the tires. Of course, since mine is not a daily driver, it doesn't get put away wet, snow encrusted, or even dirty.
What a GREAT looking garage floor. This may be the first oak floor that I've seen in a garage. I would love to have oak in my garage but I doubt it would hold up well with all of the snow we get in this area.

Before I moved into our newly built house I had a company grind down the garage floor and apply a commercial grade epoxy. That paint has seen 4 years of heavy duty use with solvents, brake fluid, brake dust, and oil on it. In the 4 years I have only used water a couple of times to clean the floor. Usually I use a broom.

Slick as snot when wet though. Wouldn't recommend this if you have little tikes or geriatric folks in the garage.

I did the same but went with the blue metallic

I used Polyurea coating, professionally installed, 20x stronger than epoxy, does not discolor from the Sun and it looks great!!!

No adhesive is required. The tile are approx 3/4" thick and their weight and interlocking deign holds them in place. No issues with mold or odors (I live in FL, so lots of rain). Water & dirt flow through the tiles by design (do a google search on SwissTrax Ribtrax). You can use a blower or a vacuum or a hose to clean out anything under the tiles. FYI, the tiles have a small gap of less than 1/2" against all walls to allow for thermal expansion as listed in the install instructions, but I've never seen any change in the gap, despite temps over 100 degrees in the garage in summer.

Note, you can select different color tiles and arrange to cover all or any portion of your garage. SwissTrax site has a calculator to assist you in your design.

I've had various forms of garage flooring over the years and this is by far the best stuff I've ever come across. My flooring is 4 years old and looks like new.

PS: These are the same tiles Jay Leno uses in his garage.

I just installed Racedeck Freeflow XL tiles (partially). When I got to the last box (of course) it was all diamond plate tiles. The installation was pretty easy & it was easy to trim the tiles to fit odd spaces with a circular saw.

I like the way that you cleverly disguised your toolboxes to look like couches.

Default Racedeck

This Racedeck flooring is 9 years old and has gone through some harsh winters here in Wisconsin. I haven't even cleaned it in a while. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Armstrong Commercial VCT Tile. Installed in early 2013 - has held up great. Strip and wax once a year and use either Swiffer wet jet occasionally to clean or mop and bucket with water/floor cleaner.

Applied over concrete (had to use concrete grinder to grind smooth)

I do get tire yellow marks that come out, but need to strip /rewax to remove. I just got foam gym mats for under the z06 tires for flat spot prevention. I use two layers of the mats under each tire.

I went with peel and stick tiles. As long as the surface in clean and dry prior to installation, it looks great. $400 for a 2 car garage.

Lol. The new building is winter storage, theatre and man lounge.

The tools and lift are in the attached house garage where I do the work on the cars

Having said that, I do have tool chests and cabinets on order for the garagemahal!
