Going to Kissimmee in January for the Mecum Auction. Not buying, just looking. Anyone suggest which two days would be best?

It really depends on what you are looking for. The auction starts off with entry level collector cars (generally under $25,000) on the first day and gradually ramps up to blue chip collectibles (6 and 7 figure cars) on the final Saturday (which is also known as Super Saturday).

Since you're "just looking", I would go for the last two days. That's the premium bunch for sure.

Also, Consider more crowds on the weekend.

Trying to decide which days I'm going as well, the one thing I like about the first weekend is that it is like a very large car show with an auction, if you only go the second weekend you miss seeing a lot of cars, I will probably go 1st Sat, Th, Fr, 2nd Sat.

Default Mecum Kissimmee Auction

Here's a different perspective of this particular Mecum auction if you are just going to look and not buy. All of the cars that sell during the early days of the auction are moved to a secure area once they are off the block. Admission to this area is restricted to the buyers of those vehicles and not spectators or other bidders. It is only when this very large secure area becomes full of sold cars that the later sold cars are parked outside the secure area. So attending the early days of the auction allows you to see more of the reasonably priced vehicles that are for sale before they are secured, as well as the high dollar cars that are on display all week. Attending the latter days you will be assured of seeing the higher dollar cars that are auctioned on the last Friday and Saturday before they are sold.

It's also been announced that more cars have been consigned and it's expected that Sunday, January 14 will also offer some reasonably priced cars.

It's a great car show no matter if you are a buyer, seller or spectator.

Been to the Dallas Mecum a few times just looking around, to me the last Friday is the best, it sometimes gets crazy on the last Saturday and usually has more exotics that I am not real interested in. Been to Barret Jackson Scottsdale the last 3 years and going again next month. The energy at that place is incredible, if just looking, I would highly recommend going there sometime as well. If 2 are going, get a bidders pass for $500 as it comes with a guest pass, so $250 each, gets you in the door for all days, just Thurs, Fri, Sat will cost about $150 to get in, and both bidder and guest get 10 drink passes per day, thats 60 drinks over 3 days at about $8 a drink...so if you like a few beers or mixed drinks, its well worth the bidder pass, and you get full access to the tents and can go up on the block, which you cannot do with just a spectator pass.

As Snomuncher mentioned. If you want to "kick tires", you can kick all of them the first day without all the crowds the final days bring.

The cars price quotient goes up as the auction moves along. Going early, all of these cars are still on the market and you can get up close and personal. Once they are sold, you aren't welcome. So if you are a look-ee loo (like me) go the first day. You'll see more and usually pay less to do it. And plan something else for your 2nd day. One day is plenty of time to 'see' the cars.
