I have a 2015 Corvette C7 (Z51) that is about 2.5 years old. Starting the engine in cold weather, I can hear telltale signs of looming battery failure.
Do you go with the stock battery from the Chevy dealer? Or is there another favorite, maybe better battery with lots of cranking amps that fits well in the same space? Thank you.
I went with the AutoZone Duralast AGM -- Exact fit and more CCA.
Others here have been happy with the Sears Diehard too. I like the DieHard batteries, but with Sears killing off stores left and right, I was concerned that if I needed a replacement, my local Sears might be gone.
Both the Duralast and the Diehard have built-in handles to make the installation easy.
If you can hear the signs of battery failure you must have better ears than most of us..
My experience is that most modern batteries fail with no warning.
My 2014 came with just a 36 month battery, so you can easily upgrade to the AC Delco GOLD series battery with a 42 month free replacement.
I have had good luck just staying with the Delco Professional grade batteries.
Bought mine at a local parts store that carries AC Delco, list for $216, bought it for about $130. I think it has around 770 CCA, and 960 CA.
Most other brands are going to be down around 650 CCA

There are three major automotive starting flooded battery manufacturers in the United States. There are four absorbed glass-mat (AGM) starting battery manufacturers and there are four flooded deep cycle battery/major deep cycle battery manufacturers in the United States.
Chances are that no matter the name stamped on it - it's all the same. Find one that fits, has the most CCA and reserve minutes for the best price and you'll be just fine.
Batteries USED to do that but all the failures I have had within the last few years have been, starts and drives fine, next time I go to start it..nothing

I replaced two batteries in the last two years albeit not on Corvettes. In both cases I knew the batteries were not right. One I could hear slow cranking and the other just would not hold a charge if for example you left the interior lights on for a short time. A free load test at a local auto parts store confirmed my thoughts.
I just replaced battery in an Impala 2 months ago that was slow cranking, so I see it still happens.
Electronic gremlins are another sign of a battery going bad.
(Obviously) Haven't had my 17 GS long enough to see how it will react but my C5 always reset the DIC to factory settings when starting the car with a failing battery.
I had my 1989 C4 for 26 years and it was always connected to a Deltran Battery Tender. The first 2 ACDelco batteries lasted over 12 years. I bought 1 more before i sold it in 2015.

Replaced mine at 3 years with a AGM battery for ~$150.
Must have the exact shape battery, no Optima etc! Be sure it says, "fits a C7."
I got a Diehard but same one and specs at AutoZone under different name.
This Sears Diehard AGM (Absorbed Glass Matt) is
size G48; Their Model 50748
Buy/pay for it on the Internet. I got a big discount (like a $30.00 discount) doing that. Pick it up at the Sears Automotive store with the confirmation code.
