Default 1 Year Ago Today - A lot happened!

Hard to believe it has been 1 year, but my first post (link below) in the Corvette Forums happened 1 year ago when I found out that I won my first Corvette from NCM. I had forgotten that I actually made it to these forums on that first day, there was so much going on.

Also hard to believe that since that first post I've made over 2,000 posts on these forums....hopefully some helpful!

It was around 30 days between when I won and when I could get to Bowling Green to pick up the car, so these forums were my education during those days and kept me somewhat calm :-)

I remember that post and thread. Of course I thought, if it could only be me.

Interesting that it was 1-13-17. The official unveiling of the the C7 was 1-13-13. I remember participating in all that went on that day too.

Congratulations and all the best for many years of enjoyment.

I showed up about a week later myself. Not as many posts, but was getting feedback to make a decision on what type of C7 Grand Sport to get/configure. Almost...almost got a Collector's Edition

I can't even fathom getting a call like that, but appreciate your efforts with the CE Registry/Thread since then!

I think it's cool that you kept the car and participate so much. I know a lot of people, who had never owned a Corvette, who would have been tempted to sell it.

This is my first Corvette as well and I love it!

I still enter the raffles from time to time. If I won again I would likely take a cash payout. I think you would do better on a cash payout than keeping the car and then selling it used.

By winning the raffle you got the car for freeee?

It wasn't like a "oh you won the raffle so you can buy THIS grand sport?"

Crazy!!

You enter the raffle for a specific car, if you win, that is the exact car you get (they purchase them in advance). So I was entering ones that I would like to have...

You can take cash as an option.

They have in the past raffled off build your own options, but I haven't seen them do one like that in a long time.

And remember, these are not free cars. They are taxed as income and you have to pay withholding up front. Figure it will cost you about 1/3 the value of the car.

I remember that post well!

And I also remember yesterday...when I didn't win the white Grand Sport raffle.

WoW!
That must have been a very exciting day for you.
How often does the NCM have these raffles? I don't believe I've
heard of one being promoted.

Still a nice deal. I used to enter these raffles from time to time as not-too-expensive entertainment but cut it off once I bought my C7.

Enjoy your C7!

You can subscribe to their announcements without being a NCM member. I can't remember the exact procedure, but check their web site and I'm sure you'll find it pretty easily.

Kevin, they give away at least one per month. I would just check their website every month or so and see what they are giving away, if it was anything I was interested in. It is constantly changing.

Here's the NCM's raffle page that shows past winners and upcoming raffles.

I agree; the NCM seems to have a raffle on almost all the time. And, it's a good way to support them. Of course, it does help the ego to win one! Congrats on the one year anniversary, Mountainears.
