It’s no wonder many people think Vette owners have serious OCD. In many cases they’re right.

In this case, we just think that the driving gloves people should stop being panzies and realize they bought a blue collar sports car, not an overpriced Euro name plate.

Hell, driving gloves would be ridiculous even if you drove a bentley. Unless you were someone's butler.

I don't wear gloves to drive but I do wear them to shovel horseshit...which I kinda felt like I needed them reading through this thread!

Default Steering wheel

Here is my wheel after 54,000 miles it's a 2013 GMC. Say what you want about driving gloves but this is what you get without using them.

GMC? As in truck? As in hands might not be the cleanest things going if at work? We are talking Corvette. not GMC. My hands are usually clean when I drive my car. I've had many cars over that mileage and the steering wheel sure doesn't look like I used sandpaper on it while driving.

Just my thoughts,

Elmer

Those must be some nasty hands. I can see why you’d wear gloves in your car.

I am sorry to say that's also a piece of crap truck. Look at that interior! The horn panel doesn't even match the steering wheel in color and everything looks like a kids lego kit. So symptomatic of the shitty interior quality of American cars till very recently. Makes you appreciate how far the C7 brought the brand upscale.

My wife gave me some beautiful driving gloves . . . so of course I wear them . But only when it's cold and I simply want warmer hands.

I have never used driving gloves but I still wouldn't beat up on the OP for using them.

Right up until I got a car that had one, I thought a heated steering wheel was a gimmick for wusses. But oh my goodness, it is nice for old stiff hands! If the next model of Corvette has one I might just trade up.

I wear some occasionally when I do some “spirited” driveing. Provides a nice grip on the wheel and 7 speed shifter. Also keeps the leather from oils built up on your hands.

Yes, and I drive around town with tow hooks installed. Lets people know I'm a hardcore racer.
