Yeah. As I recall they looked alike. Also fit a friend's Viper, as well.

After reading a lot of posts I was uncertain if the C5 CAGS plug would work on my C7 or not. My dealer told me I wouldn't need it and he was right. I almost never get the CAGS on my C7.

Nope, even the plugs on the C6 are different. However they are now down to ~$20 or less, so buy a new one. The resistor that "fools" the computer into thinking it activated the blocking solenoid may also be different so pays to buy new.

It is an easy install. It does not occur often, mostly in bumper to bumper traffic. There are times when conditions require a "short shift" and I don't like the car telling what gear I need when! Have a wife for that!

Easy to install, no CEL's tripped and no warranty issues.

If you have a Z51, Grand Sport or Z06 you'll be wise to swtich to ceramic brake pads, I have Carbotech 1521s. When you have it jacked up just slip in front of the driver's side rear wheel (be sure to use jack stands) and unplug the "blocking solenoid wires," insert the CAGS eliminator and it's done!

PS: With the OEM brake pads, I lived with for too many months, I was cleaning my 2014 Z51 wheels every ~100 miles! Not only did they look bad, the dust was pitting my black wheels! Switched to Carbotech pads and cleaned my wheels only when I washed the car! With 30 miles on my Grand Sport charged pads and installed a CAGS eliminator! Same now, clean the wheels only when I wash the car. 85% less dust and what is there does not pit my wheels.

The plug I have is from either a C5 or a C6. It plugged right into my C7. I will report back after I drive it as far as function...

It gets annoying on a C7 during stop and go commute type traffic, but not as bad as the C5 for sure. I still put one in right away because I hate the 1-4 100% of the time! If you have open roads and not a ton of stop and go I'd say you could skip it too

$15 And 10 minutes makes it an easy choice

Hmm, lots of early confusion about plugs and resistor values when the C7 first came out. Mine was built in September 2013 and could not find a vendor for a few months! Called a number!

Recall posts with different plug pics. But that was years ago. If it works and you're not tripping codes you should be fine.

I left my C6 CAGS eliminator in my C6 and frankly in my 2014 C7 when I sold it to buy my Grand Sport! Too cheap now to consider removing!

I considered putting one of those things on my C7, but, with my car at least, you have to shift pretty fast to get forced into fourth. If I'm driving slow enough to trigger the 1 to 4 shift, I typically throw the lever slowly enough that I miss the block and go straight into second. Not sure if anyone else has this experience.

Yep, never saw the need for one in the C6 and even less so in the C7. My driving style makes it irrelevant, even if it were free.

The C5/C6 plug seems to work perfect in my C7...
