My 2016 A8 seems to have an abrupt and harsh downshift into 1st gear when coming to a stop.
The trans downshifts properly as the car slows until 5mph or so then it shifts from 3rd abruptly into 1st as the car comes to a stop. It snaps passengers necks! This last downshift seems extremely rough and definitely takes away from any "smooth" cruising. This happens every stop under normal traffic conditions.
I can't imagine Chevy would design this to operate so rough. Obnoxious!
Interesting situation. GM replaced the TC in this trans at 6K. It now has 9K. This abrupt low speed (2-3mph) downshift into 1st has always been there to an extent. It is just getting worse. During the first few thousand miles the car seemed to be slow to shift into 1st when stopping.......if it was a quick stop-and go, the downshift would occur when applying throttle to again accelerate......then BAM, the shift into 1st as the car begins to accelerate. Neck snapping even with very light throttle application. This does not seem proper.
Back to the dealer I guess.
