We had been driving several hours today with everything normal, when I noticed that the turn signals worked properly but the "clicking" sound had disappeared. Same with the 4-way flashers. No music either. As best I could tell, the car had suddenly stopped being able to produce any audio at all.
We drove for another hour and the problem did not correct, nor could I find any way to fix it.
We got to the destination and shut down for about a half hour. When I restarted, everything was working normally. We made two short drives later this afternoon and everything is still normal.
A quick look in the Search function did not teach me anything.
Has anyone had this happen, and can give more information about cause/solution/future issues?
Sounds like a loose connection, relay?? a fuse would either work or not.... not be intermittent.
Could be heat related part as car cooled conections made contact?
So many systems in modern cars are software driven. It's not unlike "shutdown and reboot" on a computer when it randomly freezes up. I've had a few random glitches that cure themselves after a shutdown and restart, which never seem to happen again. My theory is that the software-driven, body control module (BCM) sometimes has a brain fart, and needs to be rebooted.
My HUD didn't work when I started it one afternoon. The next time I started the engine it was fine and hasn't had a glitch since. I attribute it to gremlins in the electronics.

The amount of software in a high-end car is really quite amazing:
Not at all surprising that they occasionally need a restart. Sometimes these glitches can only be cured by disconnecting the battery.
I had my radio quit allowing me to change pre-sets on XM but it would still work (allow pre-set changes) on both AM & FM.
Service writer and I figured it was just a software re-program issue.
However, it required a new radio.... which took over 2 weeks to get installed because GM kept sending the wrong installation parts. Radio itself arrived in 1 day.
Too many possible causes of simple issues. At least I could duplicate my problem.
We all know that when electronics start doing crazy things in corvettes that battery failure might be fast approaching. However, your car being a 17 should not have a bad battery but you never know. Keep us posted on the solution.
From: Calgary, AB. There's a reason why white was the only color offered on every year Corvette. Proud Canadian German Jamaican!

This infotainment system is the biggest POS going, I drove into work the other day with all 5 spots on my presets taken (USB), park the car then 2 hours later I start it up again and like magic, 3 of the 5 have disappeared, this happens ALL THE F'KN TIME!

I sometimes wonder if a C7 is all it's cut out to be, seems bit like a high maintenance trophy wife.
My radio has 'quit' a couple of times but after I let the car sit for a bit it reboots when I restart the car. Had a similar thing happen to the speedo - one day driving down the freeway it froze and showed 48 mph for a mile or tow then reset itself and worked properly.
The possibility of electrical gremlins is the reason I got an extended warranty. I have a 2014 Z51 3LT with 7M. Got a couple more years on the warranty but have not had to use it yet.
