So got my GS 2lt and going through it I see a spot on the battery cover for a tow hook storage spot. Was there supposed to be one as delivered or just a convenience if you buy one?

Congrats on your new GS. Share some pics with us when you have a chance. As to your question. no, you are not missing the tow hook. The tow hook is only required to be supplied on European sales. Those of us in the US are on our own to buy one.
