General consensus of what I’ve read on here is improved but not world class. I look at it this way, I too had a 14 (NRB) and while it had some orange peel the coverage was good and I was not at all unhappy with my car’s finish. I also have a 19 GS on order so based on what I’ve read I’m sure I will be pleased with its finish.

I am very impressed with the paint quality on my 2018 that was built the last week of November (and done in the new paint facility) Here is a good side shot of my car that really shows the smoothness of the paint:

Nice car! My Torch Red 2018 Z06 was built first week of January. I was hoping that it would be painted in the new paint booth. I can rest easy now. Thanks. Are you seeing any flaking paint around the joints that happened to some of these cars.

Every car has been painted in the new facility since it re-opened after the lengthy shutdown in November.

No flaking paint whatsoever and the fit of the panels is excellent

I think the paint is excellent with much less OP.
I have done some side by side comparisons and it really depends on the old paint plant car being compared. The new paint shop cars are consistently good while the old paint shop appears to me to be hit or miss. Some of the older paint shop cars I looked at were very close to the new in terms of smooth gloss, while others were not.
Wish I could say they improved the panel gap consistency with the new investment in the manufacturing line build process and the emphasis on quality. They have not. My gaps are as inconsistent as others pre-plant upgrade that I have looked at. No big deal as long as the moving panels such as doors, hatches and hood do not rub with the fixed panel fenders.

Sure looks like the new paint facility is producing the best Corvette paint work ever.
