Seat wrinkles
In preparation for purchasing a 2019 as a retirement gift to myself, I have been browsing alot online looking at color combos etc. One thing I have notice is sometimes the seats are so wrinkled or dimpled, I don't see how they made it past QC. Once the car sits out in the heat/sun, do some of the wrinkles eventually work their way out? Just really hesitant to order a car not knowing how the seats are going to turn out. I do realize that seats could be fixed under warranty, but they shouldn't have to be.

OP, wrinkled seats bug the crap out of me especially on expensive cars. I factory ordered mine and when it was delivered the right passenger seat had wrinkles across the front of the seat (see pic).
GM opened a case number and authorized a replacement seat but told me I should wait until after summer was over because the summer heat would tighten up the wrinkles. It worked, by September most of the wrinkles were gone.
That said you should be able to find a car on a lot without seat wrinkles.

Mine has a few minor wrinkles in the drivers seat. Never got worse. I thought about having the dealer fix it but changed my mind. GM will NOT give you a new seat, they will replace the cover only. I read the posts from some people who had the cover replaced and it was worse after the replacements.. Dealer mechanics are not upholsterers they don't have the skill to replace seat covers.
So proceed at your own risk..wrinkled seats typical GM flub.

As mentioned, you should be able to find a car with the seats not wrinkled. Mine are almost perfect. If you order a car its a crap shoot what your seats will look like. There is NO quality control at BG. They let the dealer handle it.

Cork, I had a similar problem. I used a steamer and it seemed to get rid of the problem.

QC-wise the entire car is a crap-shoot, as are most mass-produced products. However, the odds are in your favor.

OP, as a winter project, I just did a competition seat swap. Your upper right pic is a defect that will require a replacement. That looks way too loose and actually looks to be improperly installed. The rest, heat will take care of. It amazed me how much I could "work" the seat skin by just applying light heat with a heat gun. If all else fails, Steven's suggestion of steaming will take care of it. I have a friend who works at Johnson Controls. Their "trick" to a smooth finish is an industrial steamer over towels

Thanks everyone - by no means is this going to deter me from purchasing the car. Had not thought about steam, but being here in TX, the heat should take care of the minor wrinkles. But I do agree, the one seat should have never left the factory.
