Ok, have had my stingray for over 18 months and still have 2 questions. the photochromatic rear view mirror does not seem to be dimming. Is there an on/off switch for it or a way to test it? had it out today and don't know about the heat. When i push auto it also turns on the ac and then blows colder air. With auto off and in heat mode is the heat on auto by default? Yes i have read the manual numerous times so please don't go there.
My experience is that it will run AC compressor to control humidity even in heater mode, and if you change anything, even just the fan speed, then everything is manual from there until you put it back on auto. Just set the temp, and it will blend cool and warm air to the desired setting.
Even if you think you need heat, if the set temperature is below the cabin temperature it will blow cool air.

As said above and I know of no on off for the mirror.
The mirror uses a combination of the dash dome sensor and a sensor in the RV mirror itself.
When it determines lower light via the dash and bright light in the mirror, that is when it will dim. The DS mirror is slaved to the RV mirror. There is no on/off switch.
The black dot is exactly where the sensor is on the mirror:
To test it, you can put something over the dash dome, and shine a light in the sensor on the mirror. A dark garage with the door open and bright sunlight outside should do as well.
Since this thread has some general questions I'll add one more. How hot are the heated seats suppose to get? Like I can barely feel it and when I turn on the passenger side to test it out with no one in it I really can't feel any heat at all. The cooling part works, I can feel the air coming out and I know there won't be any air on the heated but it just doesn't seem like the leather gets that warm.
FWIW, been a question since I got my September 2013 built 3LT Z51 and my Grand Sport is the same.
That cooling you like causes an issue with heating time. It takes about 10 minutes for my seat heat to get hot enough to where I turn it down from 3 bars to one. They don’t get as hot as our BMW 5X SUV seat warmers.
The reason is to circulate air when cooling there is a ~3/8 inch thick open mesh layer between the heating elements and the leather that allows air to circulate from the 3 small cooling fans. Creates a delay in conducting heat to the leather when the heating elements are used.
the heat in our cars is kind of off, to get "about" 73 to 75 degrees in the cabin turn the temp to 78>80, that seems to be the sweet spot for about the first 20 minutes, after that you can turn it down to 75... This works well in outdoor temps from -10 degrees to 45 degrees, above those temps it is pretty close to the correct temp on the dial..
after about 15 minutes I have to turn my seats down or off...
You may find your mirror is dimming but not as much as you are used to. My 2017 dims less than I would like and less then any of our other cars.
I think that may be the issue. My other vehicles seem to really get darker as i like, the lights never seem to bother me but on the vette they bother me to the point where i sometimes tilt the mirror out on my view.

The seat heaters aren't as strong as the ones in my previous C6. Definitely not as strong as the ones in my 03 Tahoe. The Tahoe will blister your behind and back if you leave the setting on high. On the high setting the C7 seats seem to run about the same temp as the low setting on the Tahoe. Our 2015 Terrain seats heat about the same as the C7. Maybe we have another deal like the McDonald's coffee being too hot.
Seat cooling works fine by blowing a gentle breeze up underneath your body on a hot day. I try to remember to turn it on when I am on track.
I have noticed the auto dimming mirror field of view seems to be pretty small. If the lights of the car behind you don't hit it just right it will not dim. I prefer the old fashioned manual mirror that you flip up and still see even when there wasn't anything behind you.

Like others I find the mirror dimming to be a little anemic. And as Bill noted and owC6 nicely illustrated the sensor capture area is small. At night I slightly readjust the mirror so that it is more responsive to headlights, it is worth having this over the optimal placement although it is an annoyance.

I'll have to fiddle with the mirror adjustment to see if it is more responsive. The DS mirror works as I expect, much dimmer than the rear view.
