Default Canceling Remote Start (A8)

To cancel the remote start seems to be pretty straight forward, by pushing the start/stop button on the FOB or by going in the car and pressing engine start with the brake pedal depressed and then shutting if off.

You can also cancel the remote start by turning on the hazard warning flashers. That's

Never heard that you could cancel using the hazard flashers--learn something new every day.

It will turn off automagically after running for 10 mins if you take no action after the remote start.

And will allow only two remote starts before requiring an in-car start.

The My Chevrolet App (on my iPhone) has both a remote start and a remote stop button.

I wasn’t sure if I would ever use remote start on mine since it will never be left out in sub zero temperatures but I realized this week after spending 4 days in Florida where it was in the high 80s every day, that there will be a lot of times in the summer that I will use remote start to cool off the interior before getting in. Even just one minute of running will help in that regard.

That was my thought too. I've used it a couple times to warm the interior a bit, but last summer I used it quite a bit on warm summer days. Either way, I've never let it run 10 minutes. A couple minutes makes enough difference for me.

The OP was talking about how to cancel the remote start. I was pointing out that you don't have to do anything and the car will automagically shut down after 10 mins. Sheesh.

And you don't think anyone might want to actually stop it before it goes 10 minutes?
