Ceramic Coating/Synthetic Sealer
Have any of you guys/gals had a ceramic coating put on your cars? I just bought a new 17' Vette in December and was thinking of either having a ceramic coating applied, or at a minimum, a synthetic coating. I looked into a wrap, but right now that is going to bust my pocket book so it's out. Any experiences/reviews from you folks about what you have done with regard to a paint sealant or ceramic coating would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend checking out AMMO NYC in YouTube, specifically the paint regimen videos. Larry gets pretty technical about the pros and cons of ceramic (glass) coatings. I was a little weary of going that route since it forms such a hard surface, doesn’t have much flexibility, and not to mention the cost to have it professionally applied. I ended up going with the AMMO full paint regimen (Foam, Reflex, SKIN) and finished it off with Meguairs synthetic wax instead of the AMMO creme wax. The synthetic wax provides similar hydrophobic properties as the ceramic coating. I spend a 2 Saturday’s every year going through the full paint regimen, but I can’t think of many better ways to spend a Saturday!

I am going to ceramic coat my C5 this spring. Google reading and watching lots YouTube video describing the process. It seems to be quite a job, but seemingly well worth the effort. Hove not made a product purchase yet.
