Default Coupe Owners Question...

How many of you remove the roof panel yourself? Or, do you get help?

The removable top doesn’t weigh much at all.... always did it without help. I did drop it on my cousins head once when he was sitting in the passengers seat. May have been intentional lol.

Wife helped the first couple of times. The roof is fairly light and can be manage solo for an old fart.

One can do it. But if help is handy it makes it a little easier. It only weighs about 16 LBS or so, so can be a little awkward.

It's pretty easy. Just open driver door so you can get under the center. With trunk open it's easily set inside from side or rear. There's a couple videos on YouTube as well.

Thanks guys. I always needed help with my C5 roof panel but the C7 roof panel does seem considerably lighter. Off to give it a try

I'm 76 and out of shape and I can change it by myself in about 45 seconds.

Never had a problem any of my Corvettes: C6, four C4s....

Ditto. While in the car, unclip the latches, open the trunk and doors or lower the windows, lift top out and then place top into trunk. When reinstalling, just make sure the doors are open or windows are down. I am 5’7” so prefer to open the doors to allow me to grab the middle of the top easier. But the top itself is carbon fiber and light.

It is light but awkward since you are lifting from the edge. Opening the door can help.

I turned 61 Friday and I always do it myself. If my wife is riding with me, she always enjoys helping out.

I’ve removed mine by myself but given I don’t like driving with the top off it’s not something I will have to do often.

But as I age I’m sure it will become a two person task.

So long as it is not windy (blowing 20+ mph), it is very easy to do by yourself.
Once you get the routine down, it is simple.

Removal of the top can easily be done by one person.

Don't do it if is windy because it will act like a sail and be hard to handle.

The top is relatively light but awkward. I'm 72 and remove it often by myself.
I use a suction cup designed to handle plate glass. Got it at Amazon. Works great!
