Had a close call today!
So, I took the 'Vette out for a ride today, since the weather is semi clear. I was driving in a residential area past an elementary school. The crossing guard points at me to stop, then lets some kids cross the street. She then lets oncoming traffic go and motions me to pull over. I live in a state where we are required to have front license plates, which is a rule that I most certainly do not adhere to. So, I roll down my passenger side window, and she says, "The reason why I did not wave you on is because....I LOVE YOUR CAR, IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!" Then she turns to the parents and kids on the sidewalk and says "Isn't his car beautiful? I want one just like it!" I was dumbfounded. Here I thought I was going to get busted for my lack of a front license plate, and she wanted to tell me how much she liked my car! It made my day to say the least.

Cool story, but why would a crossing guard have any authority on enforcing front plate laws?
