Check out this thread..........there are numerous mentions on the part number, the scrivets etc.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...d-who-who.html

Sometimes, a little research and time searching helps. But this thread above should help you, and that's what these forums should be all about.

Helping others, seeking nothing in return.

Went to ebay and was wondering. The $3.97 is for 20 scrivets (if I read it correctly) and then I went to Genes site and he wanted $1.01 each.

Am I missing something or is the Ebay guy really giving these away ?

eBay is the best deal yet. Anybody charging $1.01 for each scrivet is really ripping people off. If you can buy 20 scrivets for $3.97 which is .1985 cents each, why pay 80% more from some other guy.

Just goes to show, how some people are charging ridiculous prices on stuff they sell and taking great advantage of forum members.

A little research goes along way. Nice to know there are other forum members willing to help others and advise of good deals when they find them.

Suggestion is to order from eBay, as there are plenty of sellers under $5.00 for 20 or 25 scrivets with free shipping.

Keep in mind the guys on eBay are still making money.

Those scrivets are the real deal. I received mine already from that seller.

Just ordered from Ebay. I also ordered the splitter from my friend who is the parts manager at a local GM dealer. Now I just have to sit back and wait which is no big deal since my car is covered up and will not see daylight until March.

I still like the security of having metal screws where I could reach the backside of the bumper cover, so I used the same screws and u-nuts that hold the bumper cover on for the outside 6 holes on the leading edge.- Just another option.
PLUS, it allows you to drill a much smaller hole. (1/8" instead of 5/16") Also used 1/4" plastic rivets in the center.
Got 100 of the 1/4" rivets on Ebay for $4.84. The GM part # for 1/4" rivets is 20664092.

The holes will never be seen, but drilling the small hole for screws makes me feel better. (1/8" vs 5/16")

Thanks for the help everyone. I tried to order it this morning and the parts guy says he needed the vin. I explained what was going on so he just ordered it without the vin, said he'd call me if they won't accept it. If push comes to shove, he's going to call their other dealership that has a Z06 and use it's vin!!!!

If you use a non-Z06 VIN# it will not help you, but the dealer can speed up delivery by referencing a Z06 VIN#. If you try to expedite delivery using a non-Z06 VIN#, the system will not accept it.

What made you go back and add the extra scrivets? You originally only drilled four holes, right?
