Good question.
The GM completely painted roofs from the factory are of a different composite and not a "pretty" carbon twill. No one cares if there's a blem or what it looks like because they will be sanded, primed & covered in paint.
The completely exposed carbon roofs are just the opposite. A 2x2 twill carbon weave is used and it has to be perfect.
Also the UV high temp resin used in the completely exposed carbon is pretty darn expensive too.

Good question.
So far, not one issue with damaged roofs due to shipping. Part of the reason is Fed Ex is used. The other is that the roof is packed extremely well
In fact it will take you a few minutes just to get through the first layer..
The only thing we ask is for a signature for delievery. The driver won't leave the package on a porch step, hall way...etc. We provide a tracking number so you know when they will be ringing your bell. We ship to business's too.
