Common problem and has happened to all of us at one time or another.
Remember too that there are two tanks, so sometimes there may be more back pressure as the first tank gets full and it has to push fuel over into the second tank...
Some gas nozzles just shut off easily and you have to go slower. I have had some stations that did not shut off early even at higher flow, but you never know.
Previous z51 and now z06 same issue but not as bad. Some pumps way worse then others. I have found with the pumps that are a problem twist the handle slightly towards the back of the car, maybe 15 to 20 degrees so the nozzle is not going straight down. Has helped in my 2 cars greatly.
It hasn't happened to me yet, so far I've only filled up at either Costco or Shell, and those two stations that I've been to both have brand new nozzles so maybe that helps. I always pump it at the slowest speed as I'm usually topping it up when it's not even close to empty yet.
So maybe the age of the pumps/nozzles has something to do with it too?
I have experienced this at one Mobil gas station where the pump shut off pressure was set wrong. I had to invert the handle and could then only get it filled on a trickle that took ridiculously long. Haven't had this problem at other gas stations.
Some pumps near me in CA had some pretty intense vapor guards on them. I found that however fast I pumped, they would still shut off guaranteed. After a while I started pulling the vapor guard back slightly while pumping. Even cracking it back half an inch helped enough air get in there to keep it from triggering every 10 seconds, yet it would still auto-shutoff when the tank was full.
If theres no vapor guard and it's still happening, I hold the nozzle upside down while I'm filling up. For some reason this works at a lot of places, and the auto-shutoff still works.
I wish now that I had gone ahead and left the anti-siphon grid out of mine when I had the fuel inlet off just to see if that made a difference in having the pump shutoff.. It is very easy to knock out if anyone wants to try it while they have the wheel well liner off...(possibly to remove the fuel door lock actuator)

I know this doesn't help, but I have probably only had that happen a couple of times. 58,000 miles on the car. But I only use Chevron. Do you have issues with those stations?
58,000 miles, no one drives their Vette more than you Joe! That is awesome.
Nothing wrong with the car. It depends on the pump, each one is different, even at the same station. Sometimes inserting the nozzle and then lifting it up makes it flow better, or just slowing down the flow rate; don't engage the auto shutoff, just hold the lever about halfway. I have to do that on my Harley as well, so the back pressure does not shut it off too soon.

Same here. I never had a problem before allowing the recall* to be performed, and now it's hit or miss. Some pumps, it happens most if not all the time.
When it does happen, the 180 degree trick always works and shuts off automatically, and sometimes I can slowly rotate it back to normal position after a few gallons, and it will behave.
Well I so far have only filled mine once at a station the other two times i used race gas cans as i was getting non ethanol super in preperations for winter storage, however on my ram 5500 Cummins i have to rotate the handle 90 degrees, I used to have to rotate 90 degrees and go slow, especially in hot weather but i removed the siphon grate and installed a locking cap instead (more worried about people adding things then stealing fuel anyway) Now i can pump w the handle straight on most pumps but if it does kick off turning 90 degrees sideways will now let it full speed. Perhaps try the same on the vette?
I'm with Verboten also. I noticed it right away when I took delivery 9/21/17. I can't fill at a "full" rate. Some stations
have faster rates. Each can adjust the flow themselves. The stations with the little TV on the pump, or the pup that talks to
you telling you to "Come inside" and spend some more $$$ seem the slowest.
I REALLY notice in NY at 10* with the wind blowing and freezing at the pump.
On many pumps I find I have to stand there and hold the nozzle. If allowed to rest on the filler, it sometimes backs out enough to cause it to shut off. Good isometrics.
