Can someone explain the symptoms of the problem the Automatic transmission A8 has? The car is a 2016 Z51 automatic. Mine is almost exactly like my friends car he is having the problem, his car has about 1200 miles on it. Still under warranty. I haven't had the problem but my car has about 650 miles on it. Any description of what the car does when having the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys & gals!

I had to have my 16 Z51 torque converter replace at about 7000 miles, no problems since now with 8100 miles on it.
Own a "16 Z51 A8. 23K miles. All Smiles. Cool Running. Maybe just lucky but since pushing 180MPH on I8 coming back from CA. I have total faith in the Tranny. OK. You could respond with typical hooligan critique but at 68 I'm impervious. Luck of the draw maybe. But I think most over-think. The A8 is as good as it gets. (IMO) Nit picking on the C7 is more subjective rather than objective. Until a Ferrari comes in under $100K The Z51 is the best "bang for the Buck" on this or any other planet.

I just bought a '16 A8 Z51 fully knowing well the issues reported in this forum. As an insurance, I bought a CPO car that included extended warranty on bumper-to-bumper as well as powertrain. My plan is to enjoy driving it and not worry about potential problems. The A8 is anyway a compromise so the wife could drive it as well and I'm really enjoying the paddle-shifter in 'M' mode. It so happens that the A8 issues are less prevalent when the car is kept out of 'ECO' mode when driving in 'M'; so, this is a win-win for me. If and when a problem arises, then I will take it to the dealer.
