FWIW, I had a C7 Z51 without MRC and the ride "stiffness" was not much different than my Grand Sport, which comes with MRC, set at Touring- the "softest" setting.
Set at Sport the Grand Sport is "stiffer" than my Z51 without MRC! That matches what Tadge stated in 2014 when asked that question at a Bash! Hard to make a very large sway bar, stiff springs and a rear sway bar (not on the base car) ride like a Cadillac!
Have not gotten by MRC software upgrade yep so reserve judgment but hoping it will allow me to drive in Sport for the other features such as less nannie control.
Look at the advantages you have! You can set it for any Mode and NOT affect the ride but can get a stiffer steering feel, faster throttle response, more or less nannie control etc! I drove the Z51 always in Sport mode and to get the same faster throttle response in my 2017 would have to drive in Track Mode. That will rattle your teeth even on our relatively good roads in Eastern SC. I added a Vitesse Throttle Controller to get back to what I had!
When I had to make a fast maneuver on the Interstate to avoid an 18 wheeler tire tread, the Z51 handled like a Go Kart. Made a similar maneuver with the Grand Sport set at Touring and it was good but not "as good" a transient response. Perhaps it was me and that specific move to avoid an 18 wheeler tire tread but I will be happier if I can drive with the Grand Sport in Sport Mode after the MRC software update. When set at Track for some fast turns it is great but I only do that occasionally no time when needed for a quick transient like a deer crossing the road!
With MGC, each "A" frame has a wheel position sensor.

But I would start with the tires as others report non run flats have a softer ride. The 45 mm Bilsteins on the Z51 are stiffer than the 36 mm on the base car but are matched with the springs. Ones that are adjustable could be a solution as well. Have coilovers on all 4 corners of my Street Rod and adjustable front shocks. When exceeding 100 mph definitely want the stiffest setting. But too stiff for my usual trips to car shows so set about mid range.
Springs would be last, if needed. As Tadge stated the base car has the softest ride, as you would expect.

I wouldn't be so quick to modify the car or to trade it. Live with it for a while and figure out what you like and what you don't like. After a couple years, if you still feel that the car is lacking, just trade it in for one that is optioned the way you want.
