Either way. The upgrade has improved the ride in my impression. Seemed strange though, that after the download, i got electronic gremlins to have the stabitrac and anti lock brake system serviced. Where those had never appeared before. Or since, for that matter.
When diagnosing a problem, always look to the last thing I or the dealer touched! Since the software upgrade did not involve lifting the car and this is the first report of the issue, probably something else.
I recall had to bring my S10 back twice for what my diagnostic plug-in and the dealers said was a bad wheel speed sensor. Dealer replaced it twice because their computer said to do that. When it happened again I looked under the truck and found that the speed sensor wire could hit the exhaust pipe and short. So warped the area with tape, tied it back, zerod out the fault and never happened again!
My favorite tongue in cheek dealer trouble shooting statement as you just pull it in is: “That will be $2000 for one of the computers so let’s hook it up and see which one!”
Repair by replace, whatever the computer says, is today’s method.
Ok...so i start the car again today and all is well. No indicator lights. As if nothing has gone wrong. I cancelled the dealer visit as I don't want to waste my time to get the " can't reproduce customer described problem". My veh is only a year old, assembled on 2/24/17. Only has 7100 miles. Since this gremlin popped up after I had the upgrade installed and had my 2nd scheduled oil change, I though maybe some other members might've experienced something similar. I'll wait until this issue props up again. My previous c5 had so many electronic issues that the dealer was unable to replicate, that i named her "Christine". She was otherwise good to me for 17 yrs. Thanks for your replies.
Actually, there was a good chance they would have found the failure codes in the History File. Once a failure is logged and then disappears there is a likelihood it remains in the history files for a certain number of ignition cycles.
Your problem could have been because of a weak battery but it could be because of something else. A service stabiltrack and abs message indicates there could be an issue that is common to both of those features although, without a service traction control message it is doubtful it was a wheel speed sensor since you didn't see a service traction control message.
