Engine chirp when first giving gas
What causes that "chirp" in the engine when starting out from a stop? If you're in neutral, also, and just pop the revs a bit, it chirps. I figure it's normal but don't know what it is.

The rush of air in the intake can sound like a chirp at times. Not sure if this is what you're hearing.

It's totally normal. The same sound occurred on my 14 and newly-delivered 18. It is a rush of air sucked in when the throttle body opens.

My C7 had a chirp and it was the tensioner pulley and fixed under a TSB I believe.
My C6 had a chirp and it was the harmonic balancer issue that was common to them.

I think the problem here is the use of the term, "chirp." I don't think that's actually the sound being described here.

You're correct, but it's the best I could come up with at the time. Thinking about it more, it's a very short, raspy, mid-frequency sound. Air rushing comes to mind but it initially has a grittier/rougher-type aspect to it for a split second, and more than what you would normally consider as air rushing in...no doubt caused by revs as the engine engages. I'll try to post some audio sometime this week. The opening throttle body explanation makes the most sense to me.
