Where are all the tall guys???
I don't fit!
So I got my search criteria out of order....step 1 should have been to see if I fit in a C7 with my helmet on! I am 6' 4", and want to buy a C7Z for a nice weather street / weekend HPDE car. I looked at one a while back from a super nice fellow CF member. I sat in the car (without helmet), and *thought* I remember head clearance being no different than a C6 (which I HPDE'ed in the past with zero issue).
I swing by a local dealer yesterday and sit in a C7Z (not sure of which seat package), and head room was just barely enough with no helmet, and was a major issue with helmet on.
My question is - are different stock seats and different trim packages (solid roof vs see-through) that vastly different as far as headroom goes???
Are there aftermarket solutions for us poor tall people that want to wear a helmet in a C7? I'm thinking seat rails or aftermarket seat?
Perhaps the car I sat in yesterday some funky luxury seat option? I did have the seat all the way down and back. I'm hoping that if I do an aftermarket (comfortable) racing seat with no seat rails (because I would keep the seat all the way back at all times, I might be able to still have the option of tracking a C7Z.
Please let me know if anyone else has heard of this issue!

The competition seats are slightly lower, and the transparent top provides a little more clearance. Also, some have modified the the seat track by moving the lateral stop back a little further...

At 6’4” there is no stock combo that is going to help. I’m 6’2” with comp seats and transparent top and with a helmet on my head is hitting the roof. Uncomfortable at best. Going to need a fixed race seat in order to fit properly with a helmet. I bought my car not planning to track but then got hooked. Had I known I would have gone another route. I absolutely love my Z on the track so I’m thinking seats or may just buy a track car.

I'm 6'4", and have a 17 GS with the regular seats. If I get the seat settings just right, I can fit with my helmet with the normal roof panel installed. My helmet does rub a bit, but it doesn't bother me while driving. I had to play with the seat settings in the GS I drove at Spring Mountain to get comfortable, but once I did, it was fine.

Don't forget to undo the seat sensor for that extra 1/2 inch.

6’5 1/2 here with big boy build, have the transparent top an just did the competition seat conversion via trunk monkey. Fit like a glove! I also have that suction cup attached to the top but I may remove it to gain some headroom back. I did the unplugging of the seat an the method of moving the seat forward, leaning it forward, squating it down an bringing it back. That seemed to do the trick! But unplugging that plug did help even more.

6'4" and fit fine. The car has seat travel sensors that stop it from moving. You have to incline the seat back first, then get the seat base all the way down and back, then recline the seat back. I can wear a helmet and heel-toe on track.

My son is 6'9' and had to have the seats customized. He paid something like $4,000. He wasn't even close to getting into the car without the customization. He fits really good now. That is an option for you if push comes to shove.
