Not necessarily. You can buy a Costco gift card without a membership. Then Costco gift cards can be used to purchase items without a membership.
I had a friend who was too cheap to pay the membership and only wanted a few things. My kids eat enough that the 2% back more than pays for our membership each year.
I think that's only partially true. True, you can use a gift card without being a member, but I'm pretty sure you have to be a member to buy one. If that's true, then you'd have to have a family member or friend who'd buy the cards using your money, and know that you were a cheapskate, using him to avoid buying a membership. Or am I wrong, and there's a way to buy gift cards without being a member?
You need to avoid it at the peak times then. I filled up at Costco at around 7:30 this evening and didn't have to wait for a pump at all.
Even when it's busy I've never waited 45 minutes, maybe 10. Even with a long wait it's worth it to save money though, for instance tonight the price of premium at Costco was $1.21 a liter. At most of the major stations around here including Shell, it was $1.47. With a 60L fillup that saves over $15! If you fill up 20 times a year that's a $300 savings.
Thanks for the update! Last time I looked was a year ago and Sunoco was not on the list. Still, it was near me and decently priced so that's where my C7 gets fueled. No fuel related problems at all!
Costco doesn't make any gasoline anywhere. You don't know what company is producing their gasoline. Could even be Shell.
In Canada I have heard that our Costcos are supplied by Shell. That would make sense because Costco here has ethanol free premium just like Shell does.
