What would you do?
so I’ve been contemplating trading my 17 z51 for a zo6. What it comes down to is about a $10,000 loss to get into the z. Is it worth it. I don’t know. Do I want it heck yeah. Should have bought it from the start

I've been wrestling with this since the Z06 came out. The Z06 wasn't available when I bought my Z51. I should have waited until it was released. While I can afford the depreciation hit, I'm struggling with accepting it.

I'm glad the Z06 was my first choice.........or I would be asking the same question.....(NOT) vbdenny, said it best.

I definitely think it is worth it. But let me understand what you mean by a loss. Are you going to trade it in and give them 10k? Or you got a price on the z06 you negotiated to pay, and when you trade the z51 in, they are giving you a trade value of 10k less of what you originally paid for the z51?

Only you can know if it's worth it to you! I assume you are trading for a used Z06 since it's only a $10,000 loss? What are reasons for wanting the Z06 opposed to your Z51?
There's a bit to consider in purchasing a used Z06.
Good luck and I hope you make the right decision for you.

As much as I love my Laguna Blue Z51, every time Joy c7 posts photos of that gorgeous red C7 Z06 with those chrome wheels pictured below, I ask myself the same question.

The longer you wait the less you will get for your trade in.

I give free financial advise. Without doing an assessment of your financials, goals, etc., there's no way to answer your $10,000.00 intelligently. You may or may not be able to afford the $10K. You should wonder why you're dissatisfied so soon with your present C7. I'd slow down and assess my own decision making history as per financials. Other than the personal transportation aspect that a Corvette offers it's owner, there's very little else it offers beyond an expensive toy.

If you ask a question like this, doesn't it really mean yes, get the Z06? I could have ordered a 2015 Z06 when I ordered my 2015 Z51 convertible. I thought about it, and it was a simple decision. Equipped the way I would want, it would have been another $20,000 plus because Z06 was going for sticker and I got credit union pricing on the Z51 (about 9% off sticker). Either I could write a check for--FWIW.
I've never driven a Z06, but assume I would like it for a time; and personally for me, if I was going over $100,000 then I had to give serious thought to possibly going with another choice (used Carrera S cab in my case). And in the end, I can get into plenty of trouble and have fun with the 460 HP and 465 torque I got. The decision for me was easy.
So that's why I say, if your gut says you want the Z06--that's your answer, as mine was mine.
