Check this thread from Theta with Service Manual procedures and following those is a post by JerryU with info and a link to a pdf he did showing the whole procedure and a lifting tool he had trouble with but will give you an idea:

However when changing batteries (and other items) some of those Service Manual instructions are useless! For example, to remove the power block, per the Service Manual, it just says, “Release the tabs on the fuse block." Love folks who write manuals, you wonder if they ever worked on a car!
I made a PDF that shows where they are how to do that, it's NOT obvious! There are some other tricks:

For that one item below is one of the 22 pics with text from the PDF. It starts with something NOT in the Owner's or Service Manual, "How to get access to the battery without ripping the carpet!" A poster mentioned the Chevy dealer tech ripped his carpet. Call AAA to jump start and that person will no doubt rip it!
For the OP's question, if he looks at the PDF he will see I bought a cheap battery lifter that attaches to the posts. It slipped once so I got the battery out of the "hole," with it than placed in on the deck and lifted it out of the car with my hands!
Service Manual does not say where the tabs are to remove the fuse black or how to access. It's not obvious!

Agree with you, once out on the hole, I put in on the deck floor and picked up by putting my hands underneath to move it out of the car. My new AGM battery (same I have seen at AutoZone and Advance Auto) came with flip-up handles as the OEM should have then no need for anything!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Depends on the car! When I brought my C7 old battery to where I bought it to get my $5 refund, I mentioned to the service manager what I discovered about issues with the C7 access etc, in case they get one to change. He said, "We no longer deal with batteries that are not in easy access, we recommend they go to the dealer!"
EXAMPLE
Can understand as after looking at a YouTube video I realized to change the battery in the Wife's Porsche Cayenne the driver's seat had to be removed. Not just tilt it, remove it! Even bought a very large 1/2 inch drive Torx bit as that was needed to remove the seat bolts! Lots of plastic surrounding the seat bottom that would not be easy to remove.
Had to make a trip to Tennessee and was no time to tackle the battery. Was about to buy a jump start rechargeable battery to bring with us, just in case, as the battery was reading 11.8 volts. Since the SUV was over 4 years old and we would be replacing it soon, decided we should look at a new car in town! Brought it too the carwash prior to the dealer visit for the best trade-in estimate. When I pulled in the fellow said nice car-too bad a battery cost $900! Surprised at the comment, I asked how he knew and he said another customer has one and that is what he paid!
I took that as an omen and we went to the BMW/Mercedes dealer as planned "just to look" and drove home in a new BMW!

If you do find someone who will change it, good chance they will rip the carpet getting access! There were posts where a dealer tech ripped it! Not easy to avoid as the unbound carpet is a tight fit, especially under the right plastic wheel well cover! In my PDF (link in post#5) I show a way to unclip that cover to reduce the chance of ripping the carpet. That is NOT in the Owner's or the Service Manual! If you call AAA to jump start a dead battery for sure that tech will rip the carpet getting to the battery!

Also, I am even more paranoid about ripping the carpet than Jerry. I removed the whole side panel trim...
Auto zone any auto parts stores has them. I had to get one last week to get mind out of the car in the c7. It was only like $8.00 plus dealer will chg it out for 25.00.. Robert
