Any advice on what to do or not do to keep the HUD in my new(to me) 2016 Z51 working at it’s best. I have it on all the time and really like it! I especially worry about how best to keep it clean.
I work on corvettes and I have not had any issues with the screens the older c6 creens had issues with the spring breaking on pot holes clean wirh swifter duster first then microfiber
I wouldn't call this an issue, but I find it interesting that from time to time I need to adjust the HUD position. It moves slightly on it's own. It still has really good range up and down. Weird.
Clean lightly with micro fiber towels. Avoid wearing polarized sunglasses.
Discovered that a little while back- Thought the thing was broken until I realized (after cussing for about 10 minutes) that I was wearing sunglasses I seldom used and had never worn in the new car...

The C7 is not nearly as bad as the C6 was. I could not see the HUD at all if wearing polarized sunglasses on either the '05 or '09, but the display is only slightly dimmer on my '14.
Best thing to do is not touch it unless there is obvious degradation due to dust. Had my C5Z for 14 years and never touched it, there are threads on here where folks have tried to clean and broken the bracket.
Polarized glasses are just fine, just get a better brand.

My polarized prescription sunglasses dimmed the HUD considerably. As for getting a better brand you can test the sunglasses to see if they are truly polarized. Take two polarized lens and put one in front of the other so you can see through them, then turn one of them 90 degrees. If they are both polarized once the lens is turned 90 degrees the combo will block all the light that had been coming through them. If your lens can't do that then it isn't polarized no matter how good it is.

Thanks Bill, come from decades in the aviation community so very familiar with polarized lenses. Just like anything, not everything polarized reacts the same...todays high end optics block horizontal glare and are gtg on hud.
