I have these stubborn stains from the car wash, any ideas on how to remove?

Griots products work extremely well. This dressing is my favorite.

I would recommend testing anything in a small, descrete spot on that surface before applying all over.

^ I agree. The paint in that area under the hatch has historically been easy to damage if the wrong stuff is used on it. Testing a small discrete area would be wise just in case whatever is used mars the paint.

For some reason (unknown to me and many others as several threads show) this part of your Vette is very vulnerable. Be careful what you use to try to remove the stains, just sayin' cause I've been there, done that, and have not found a product yet that works good on that weird paint.

"Weird paint" is a kind description. It is almost as if the blacking was sooted on.

Yes, that "paint" is incredibly fragile. Windex removed it from our C5, since then I just use warm water on a terrycloth towel for most cleaning there. If it really needs more, I use the GM Glass Cleaner (white foamy stuff in a spray can) sprayed into the towel, and don't rub very hard.

I've used CaPro Inside straight out of the bottle to clean that area without damage and then Carpro PERL @3:1 or neat to bring back the original deep black color with a nice semi-gloss finish. If you use an APC, I wouldn't go stronger that 8:1, maybe even 10:1 to try to get that off.

Like others stated this paint is incredible thin and crappy. I had some interior cleaner start taking it off. So whatever you use be VERY careful. I've learned to just wipe this area down with a damp microfiber.
Now what's up with the black tape around the edges where the rubber hatch seal / gasket touches? Some kind of trick to keep the hatch from sticking?
