As a new and first time Corvette owner, I have noticed something: most of the time, when I am driving my Z06 and a Corvette is coming toward me from the opposite direction, the driver waves at me. I wave back, naturally, and I'm guessing that this is sort of a "we've got the car of our dreams" kind of thing that we are all acknowledging with "the wave."
So, is this a real thing, or am I just imagining it? I qualified my observation by saying "most of the time," because, for example, the other day a Corvette was approaching me, so I waved, but the guy driving did not wave back. Consequently, I guess not all Corvette owners participate in this ritual of ownership.
Are you a part of this "Corvette brotherhood?" Do you wave at other Vettes as you cross paths?

I always wave whether the other driver waves first or not.
But yesterday for the first time, I went 0 for 2 as a couple of C3's either didn't see me or ignored my wave. Oh well...I'll keep waving. Great tradition.

Always, if I see the other 'vette in time...every now and then I'll get a look like I'm a bit crazy and that could be a separate but valid observation...
I wave or flash my lights. Hard to see going fast on the highway, so always flash the lights in that case. In town...windows down I wave. Windows up I flash.
The "Corvette Wave" has been a time-honored tradition since the very start of Corvette production. I always wave, and almost always get a wave in return. Save the Wave!
I always wave. Unfortunately, I've been getting denied a lot lately. One older guy a few days ago even gave me an angry look. I've noticed since I've been driving C7's the no wave back rate has been much higher than it was when I had my C5 Z06. I almost always got a return wave in the C5. Has anyone else experienced this?
It's funny, my two main vehicles are a Corvette and a Jeep Wrangler...two owners groups that wave at each other. They funny thing is when I'm in the Vette and, w/o thinking, wave at a Jeep...or vice-versa. That gets some interesting looks on occasion.

Thoughts?
Yes, religiously. It is one of my favorite parts of Corvette ownership, always has been.

As my physician tells me with a smile on his face: "... We all have a little crazy in us!"
