Alignment Before or After
I gave the service writer my sheet. Was pleased when I saw the Tech had it as I stood outside the open door at the alignment rack service bay. Watched to be sure my Stage 2 aero carbon fiber splitter cleared the ramps. It did but just barely! Tech had another Tech watching as he drove it up the ramps. I mentioned there would be a tip, which I gave him!
He took the time to adjust camber and toes and had to go back and forth a bit as one adjustment affects the other. He was proud he got them where I wanted. This was all on Warranty and GM's dime!
All the service writer was concerned about when I picked up the car after signing the no charge bill was if I would give them good marks when I got a phone call. Which I did!

PS: This was the large Chevy, BMW, Mercedes dealer in town. I bought the Grand Sport from Kerbeck and had Courtesy Delivery to small Chevy dealer 35 miles away, because they WOULD! Would have used the Courtesy Delivery dealer for the alignment BUT they sell a lot of large trucks and their alignment rack ramps would not clear my splitter by a bunch! Service Writer at my local dealer could care less where I bought the car. Got an appointment in 2 days. He just cared about getting good satisfaction survey report!
This is the same dealer where I brought my C6, also purchased from Kerbeck, and the Service Manager helped me get GM to pay for a hole in my AC condenser about a year after purchase. Was told GM won't pay because it was probably caused by a rock! After paying $800 for a new one then getting it home I showed how it failed from the inside and the Condenser was slightly bent where it obviously was dropped and hit something! I blamed the AC condenser vendor in my letter on the subject. Did not want to blame Bowling Green!
The Service Manger gave my letter with my pics to his GM District Service rep when he visited and I got a check for the full $800!

I had mine done at 1100mi,it was within spec but the specs are wide.
I used the DSC specs.$89.Worth it.

As noted in Post #24 I had no problem getting a free alignment and not just a check. They adjusted all 3 cambers to the spec I gave them. For example the rear of the Grand Sport has a GM spec of -0.5 to -1.7 digress! That is very wide! Mine was about -1.6 from the factory. I asked for and got -0.8 as I felt that was a good compromise for performance and tire wear as I don't Track. On their Hunter alignment machine there was only one toe slightly out, all other measurements were in the Green. They could have fixed it and said all is fine. In fact the tech centered all toes within spec.
I had read somewhere that they get compensated by GM if under 500 miles for one alignment but others have said more miles was OK. Have to believe GM will not compensate at some mileage or perhaps time from delivery.
That was done at the local dealer who was not the selling dealer (that was Kerbeck) or the Courtesy Delivery Dealer who is 30 miles away! Frankly would have used the Courtesy Delivery dealer but in that small town they sell a lot of trucks and their alignment rack has large drive on ramps that would NOT allow my carbon fiber splitter to get even close to clearing! At the local large Chevy/BMW/Mercedes dealer it had less than 1 inch clearance! I watched as did another tech as the tech that was doing the alignment drove on very slowly! I gave him a nice tip!

These are the GM Specs for Camber on a Grand Sport. Within this range GM would say they were OK! You can drive a truck though these numbers!
Left Front = 0 to -1.2
Right Front = -0.3 to -1.5
Both Rear = -0.5 to -1.7
Note the difference in front is based on a change when you are sitting in the car and a bit of road camber.
You have to decide what is best for you for street driving. Closer to the low end for best tire wear. Somewhat more negative for better handling.

Its should be stated that there are other folks using those specs and are quite satisfied. It really all depends on how you drive, and what you want from the car.

I do live in a rural area near Washington, DC, and drive a lot of twisty state and county highways, which is about 50% of my mileage. They are certainly not too aggressive for my use.
I've also compared near zero camber to these specs, and there is no question the car handles better with the DSC specs, but also drives straight and true with hands off the wheel on a relatively smooth, straight surface.
