I bought my husband an iPod Shuffle for his 2017 Grand Sport. The songs are loaded up and I can listen to music through the iPod headphones or through our stereo at home. When I plug the iPod into the USB port behind the infotainment center and go to devices, the iPod does not show up. Any ideas?,
Couple of things to check. Make certain you're using a data cable and not just a power cable. Take the cable from the car, plug it into your laptop/Mac, and make sure it "sees" the iPod. If not, you'll need a new cable. Make sure the iPod software is up to date. I'm not familiar with the shuffle but figure out how to do a hard reset. If none of those work, do a restore from iTunes.
Do you have a thumb drive you can connect to the USB port? Accessing a thumb drive will let you know if the port is good.
I had this problem as well. Not sure what app you're playing music through, but it only works with iTunes. Spotify and Amazon music, etc, are not recognized by the system. I called infotainment support and that is what they told me. I hope that helps

I am not sure about the file format on the iPod Shuffle but there are some apple formats that are not supported by the infotainment system. Here is a little more info on connecting to the system and selecting the music source. Good luck https://my.chevrolet.com/content/dam...stem-guide.pdf
All my ipod touch's from 4th gen up play fine , my earlier 30 gig ipod and my 1st gen touch do not work .. my spare 5s phone that I only use for music now also works fine

I had a similar issue with an old iPod Classic I resurrected just to see if it would still work. The iPod did fine on the headphones. And it didn't in the car. So I used some canned air on both ends of the cord. And kaboom it was singing to me. That being said, after getting the iPod to work, I went back to using the thumb drive I used prior. Compressed air was the trick fix for Nintendo cartridge games back in the day. Old dog old tricks.
