Default 2017 LT1 automatic poor shift

Mostly when the automatic transmission is still cold it shifts poorly from 1st to 2nd (normal or slow acceleration). All other gears shift smoothly. Florida car.

My friend experience the same problem, and took it in for oil change they updated the computer with new software which solved the problem.
His only complaint is why did GM wait this long to get it right.

Unfortunately its a very common issue of the poorly engineered 8 speed transmission, Usually goes away once warm.

I’ve been hearing tranny withA TC aren’t nearly as quick with auto’s without it.
This is just what I read.I stick with the M7.Using the no lift shift procedure i’m nearly as quick as the auto.

Always does!

I always use the latest TCM software that I know works.

Honestly, don't call me if you're just looking to fix a trans bug that a GM update will fix. If you're not

local to me, it's not worth the trouble.

ON THE OTHER HAND.... If you want the problem to go away AND make the car into a monster.....

Here's my number..... 914-332-0049

Try getting the Range AFM disabler it not only holds the car in v8 mode all the time but improved my cold shift points by 75%

That's one of the MANY things we do in our tune.....

In addition, AFM control and my modified converter lockup / unlock schedule GREATLY improves the drive ability

of the A8 Automatic Corvette.

What's a "poor" shift versus a "smooth" shift I wonder?

Often the 1>2 shift can be helped by a simple software reset to readjust adaptive learning. Back when I had my 2015 A8 many were complaining about the same issue that was rectified by following the attached instructions. This is an old doc, so you might check to see if a more current one is available.

I have a 2017 Stringray that shifts poorly, badly what you want to call it only when its cold once it warms up everything is great. What do I tell my dealership when I take in for service is there a service bulletin for repair.

I have a '15 and the tranny got swapped with 100 miles on the clock. I have the same delayed 1 - 2 shift when cold. Goes away really fast since in the Florida inferno the thing warms up really quick. I guess I just got used to it. Just revs a bit on the first shift. By the time I get to the end of the block the thing warms up enough that it shifts fine. When I start it I let it idle for 30 seconds before I put it in drive so I don't get the lunge that sometimes occurs if I do not.

The Range has NO impact on this behavior. I had a range it it forever. The engine is not going to go into 4 cylinder putt-putt mode anyway till it is warned up. It is not going to be in V4 mode in first gear.

As far a an aftermarket tune, I would stear clear. If you have the prominent TC issues and GM finds an aftermarket tune, you will probably be on your own. If you are out of warranty, tune away!

I'll assume you are on a B2B warranty. If it really bugs you, take it in and the dealer will check if there is a newer flash available. Maybe they will try the triple flsuh with the newer fluid if the 17 don't have that.

Default ALL software updates and Adaptive RESET procedure.

You should ask them to perform ALL software updates and Adaptive RESET procedures.

2015 Cars in particular have MANY software updates for the trans and you would have the best shot at

addressing your concerns by having them.

Additionally, we have had a few modified 2015 A8 cars that caused me headaches for an entire year to resolve shift complaints

when driving easy and after what amounted to 60 or so re-flashes the problem was still NOT resolved.

Fast Forward, I created a custom A8 tune for the 2015 A8 Cars that now works PERFECTLY regardless wether

the vehicle is STOCK or MODIFIED.

The primary complaint was a very hard SLAM SHIFT slowing to a stop.....

All fixed now, but YES requires my tune and AutoCal package.
