So this past weekend I took my wheels off my 2016 Z51. I washed them and hit them with the Clay Bar. Polished them up then applied some wheel protector from chemical guys. Something I noticed while breaking the lug nuts. There were no wheel locks on any of my wheels. Found it weird there wasn’t any on a expensive car. My wife’s 2013 Durango came with wheels locks. So I figured maybe they came in the xtra packing no where in sight. So I decided to check my window sticker to see if there was a set showing on there. The paper work didn’t have any, so basically I am just curious did anyone have wheel locks when they bought their C7?
Not a standard item although some dealers provide them free especially if you ask during negotiations.
Of all the locks I've seen out there, these new X2 locks look that they will thwart thieves that use the most common tool to remove wheel locks. That being a hammer and a slightly smaller socket that is hammered onto wheel lock and removed with a breaker bar. If they try that on these it will not work because the end of the lock that the socket is hammered onto will simply rotate and will not remove the lock. Part # 71631X
Because the will be very hard to remove without the key, I'd suggest the first thing you do is buy a spare key.

Thanks guys I currently live in Hawaii thief and vandalism is starting to increase. I just want to make sure I am at least trying to prevent someone from snatching my wheels or anything else on my car. Just found it odd that wasn't standard on these type of cars. I need to negotiate better the next time around.
I took mine off. To me there is a safety issue here. Side of the road, dark, traffic which is an unsafe time to be looking for a special lug key.
Thieves will jam a cheap socket on the lugs or if they are pros may even have a lug key that fits. They are not much of a deterrent and again may put you in an unsafe situation.

Talk about grasping for straws. This is a Corvette with no jack and no spare. What are you doing on the side of road anyway? Did you forget you have run flat tires? And tire pressure sensors. And you can't find a safe place to pull over?

Wheel locks keep honest people honest. If a professional thief wants your wheels they will get them. With that said I do have locks. Why take a chance.
Some of the locks I have seen, I would be more worried about messing them up and not being able to get them off when I needed to. To me, just something else to complicate things that may not really be of any benefit...
Many podunk dealers are notorious for selling locks to the tune of $85 for the same ones you can buy for $24... if ya want 'em or not. I went round and round with a couple local dealers. Just another money making rip-off, imho.
I don't use locks on any of my cars; there are arguments both ways but personally I'd rather give 'em insured tires and wheels and not have them destroy rotors, etc. trying to force them off. Your call.

I lock my house doors as well!
I had a heck of a time getting one wheel off my truck when the Gorilla key broke. That was over 15 years ago and since I have only bought McGard. May have just been that one key but it was one that I happened to have! Destroyed a 12 point socket smashing it on with a small sledge hammer! Was almost ready to weld a large nut to the lock!
