This may be a repeat but for those of you who don't know...and don't want an EZ Pass on your windshield...I put mine in the storage compartment behind the video screen and it works fine. Drove through tolls in NH, MA and ME. GREEN LIGHT each time!
Same here. However, one time it did not work. When I opened the compartment, I noticed the EZ Pass laying on the Velcro side. I then repositioned it as if it was stuck on the windshield (Velcro side exposed angled to the front). Not sure if it made a difference, but no issues since.
It's a gizmo about as big as a computer mouse that you attach to your windshield. It allows you to drive through toll plazas without having to stop and pay. Sensors at the toll plaza read the signal from the EZpass and bill your credit card.
I kind of like that Washington allows us to simply register our license plates. No transponders necessary. Don't like paying tolls period, but at least there's no gizmos cluttering up my ride.
At least two states I'm aware of (Florida and Texas) do tolling by mail, with no registration or transponder necessary. Having traveled in both in our MD-registered motorhome, it works great. They take a picture, the system finds your address based upon plate number, and sends you the bill.
EZ Pass covers most of the east coast, and yes, it does work great in the cubby behind the screen.
Just call me Slum Dog Texan, the passes on both the C7 and the Ferrari are visible. I never even think about them and really don't care what anyone else thinks.

the NY/NJ TBTA/MTA are cutting over to plate recognition and invoicing, they already did a couple of bridges.
