Default Order question

Hi guys, I ordered a 19 GS on feb 23 and I have a TPW of 4/23. I've noticed quite a few people who ordered after me with build dates before mine. Does that seem like an unusually long time between order and build date or is that about average for an avg dealership?

Kenny, there are a lot of variables. Most prevalent is the "options, and packages" ordered on the car. I would bet that's the difference with yours.

I thought GM was bad until I ordered my wife a 2018 Mustang GT. Ford is all over the place when it comes to TPW's.

Mine was 6 weeks from order to delivery. I think it may depend on how many allocations the dealer has too. There are also parts constraints. 2 months does not sound bad to me. I feel bad for those that have to wait another 2-4 weeks for car to be shipped.

Was in Bowling Green and a person was taking delivery 9 months after order date because of restraint for the competition seats. We were both staying at the B&B owned by Wendal Strode the Corvette museum director.

I'm not sure what determines that, but I ordered my 19 Z06 on 3/13/18 and have the same TPW 4/23/18.
So it may be depend on color or options -and luck of the draw?

That’s insane. Is there a threshold where you can just say no thanks and walk away? I’m pretty sure I’d want to after all that.

Depends who ordered! Kerbeck was ordering ~25/week. Even if an item is 20% constrained (i.e. only 20% of the orders can have that item) odds are they can place the order! A local dealer may not be able to do that!

However it also depends on how many Vettes Bowing Green has on order as to the build date.

it's called how bad do you want it. There are so many things that go into a delivery ,some have been mentioned other have not ,like were in the country you live also plays a part in the arrival time . If you live on the west coast add 4-6 weeks for a train delivery. If your dealer isn't a high volume dealer you'll wait longer than a high volume dealer. weather is also a factor, normally all vetts headed to the west coast travel by truck from Bowling green to Toledo Oh. then by train to Kansas City then to the west coast. This year some went straight to Kansas City, no one knows why.

Unfortunately, the time between the placing of the order, TPW, shipping, and delivery drastically varies depending on many circumstances. Restraints, over orders, and more can effect the first two, and everything from weather, carriers, and more can effect the latter two. Combine all of the variables and your TPW of 4/23 is definitely possible. Don't think about it and it will go faster!

Ordered my GS 2/3 and taking delivery tomorrow 3/30 (8 weeks). TPW slipped one week, the original TPW was 3/12.
