No, it isn't.

There is a lot of ambiguity about the spelling, but never NAPA; it's not an acronym. Google it. Yes, it originated in Napa, but it's spelled Nappa as often as not.

As to what is used in the making of the 3lt leather seats used in Corvettes, I've seen it spelled both ways.

I think you should look it up. If you Google "Napa leather," Google corrects your spelling and gives you miles of links that say "Nappa" leather.

Joe, you're a real piece of work. I did "look it up" and handed it to you on a silver platter. Did you even bother clicking the link in my post? Did you even bother typing "Napa leather" into Google to see what happens?

I thought not . . .

You keep looking in the wrong place. A couple weeks ago, I called it exactly what it was/is; Napa. You and Google aren't the only ones with defining how the leather term in question is spelled. It's Napa. Whether you like it or not.

You're one weird dude. YOU called it? Show us your definitive proof, and don't cite yourself as any kind of definitive source for anything.

Google is simply a search engine for all available references on the internet. They don't define anything.

If you want to die in that ditch, go ahead. It's Napa. You should give some thought to critical thinking. Yes, I did look it up last time this leather deal came up. Napa. Whether you like it, or not.

OK, following your advice, I've critically thought about whether it makes any sense to further communicate with someone so obviously out of touch with reality and decided it doesn't make sense.

Thanks for the advice and making that perfectly clear for me going forward.

WOW.... a heated discussion about spelling a word that is at best ambiguous in its spelling. I've seen it spelled both ways in the same paragraph! According to Collonil, a leather care products company registered in Germany the word is NAPPA. According to the Leather Dictionary https://www.leather-dictionary.com/i...p/Napa_leather both are correct, with different meanings. "In the English-speaking world, napa leather is written with one "p". There is also the term "nappa leather", which is used for soft imitation leather. Probably to let customers believe they have bought top quality napa leather. It is not known which labelling rules apply in the many English-speaking countries. In Portugal, the word for artificial leather is "Napa". In Germany "Nappa" means the same as "napa" in the English language. Therefore, it is always necessary to clarify the term in foreign countries." Likely its one of many words that are spelled differently depending on what country you are in, such as color vs colour.

Its fun to sometimes dig deeper into a subject to learn little useless tidbits of information but lets keep it in context. I'm reminded of a saying an old friend used many times. "Save your breath cuz a fool won't listen and a wise man don't need to hear it." I'm guessing we each need to decide which one of those two we fit best.

GM refers to it as NAPA. Seems every other automaker uses the word NAPPA. Go figure.

What Is Napa Leather?
Napa leather was conceived in 1875 by Emanuel Manasse while he worked for the Sawyer Tanning Company in Napa, California. It is a leather that is typically dyed and is made from kid, cow, calf, lamb or other skin by a distinctive tanning process.
