Default Sticky Traction Control Button

Unless I'm mistaken, the traction control button in my car appears to be stuck in the 'pressed' position (I pressed the button and didn't pay attention to how much it moved when I pressed it - so I'm not sure if it's in its normal position or not - but it 'looks' stuck). Good news is that the traction control can still be toggled on/off.

So, has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do to free it up? Thanks in advance for suggestions...

If it still works, it's NOT stuck. It only moves bit more than 1/16 inch.

There isn’t a lot of movement in the switch. If the light toggles, then it should be working, but certainly take it in if you think otherwise.

Like I said, it's not stuck to the point of not working - but it BARELY moves (no spring action whatsoever and VERY little movement). Sounds like I'll have to find another car with same button for comparison.

Ok, managed to fix it - it WAS stuck! Used a toothpick to loosen up some residue (dried cleaner or coffee?) from previous owner. Then used a little isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol on a q-tip (wet enough to rinse it without over-wetting) to remove any remaining residue. Button now presses and releases the way it's supposed to. I'm a happy camper again!

Now if the weather would just cooperate in the northeast!!!
