Default Oil Change to 15w50 Under Warranty

I am going to take my 2018 Z06 to the Mojave Magnum event so I will have to change my oil to 15w50 to keep the warranty in tact.

Has anyone had that oil change as one of the first two free ones?

First dealer I went to said they would not do it. Didn't know what I was talking about. I had to show them the manual.

The second place seemed OK with it but they did not carry the oil. They are checking with the boss to see if they will provide the oil. They will do it if I provide the oil. At least they knew what I was talking about.

Or, you could have it changed to the new spec (Dexos) 0w-40 Mobil 1 product, which is certified for street and track use.

I found its easier to change it yourself than to have the dealer do it. Most don't carry the 15W50 oil and the Mobil1 ESP 0W40 is in short supply. My dealer doesn't have the new Mobil1 nor the 15W50. The other problem you can have is getting them to fill it to a half quart over full as the OM says to do.

Had the oil changed today. They charged me $25 for the difference in price of the oil. Fast friendly service.

Being the way I am, I did check the oil level when I got home and it was full. They also remembered to reset the oil life.

So they ripped you off with a smile on their face? I don't see how they could justify charging you $25 more money when the 15w50 costs the exact same amount as the 5w30.
