Here are a few pics for those who don't want to download the PDF. However the PDF also covers what I tried that did not work!
First, pull out the rubber on the floor. Gives you 3/32 more depth and a surface to glue the insert
Then use UV Activated adhesive. Great stuff.
Take your time and put in a fillet of adhesive on both sides of the insert. Nothing happens until you activate with the light
I use this C7 logo stainless thermos and make it snug with felt. I used the soft side on Velcro because I had it. It does NOT attached to the mating side just acts like the felt pads. It's just snug enough but bottle comes out easy. The thermos can keep things hot or cold, amazing how it knows which to do! I only have water in the Vette and always start with it full.
It is. Suggest making three small fillets (being a welding guy) as one large one does not harden as well. As I said it is easy to do as nothing happens until you turn on the UV light. Leave it on about a minute.
Put the first one at the apex filling any gap. Harden it.
Then put another bead of adhesive at the outside base of that previously deposited and hardened bead.
Than after activating and hardening it, another on top of those two and against the vertical insert.

Thanks. I have so much silicone hanging around I'm going to use that route first and see how it goes, just to see if I can aggravate myself some more
If you think the C7 cup-holders are bad, you clearly never owned a C5 and tried to use its holder!
They were so bad. I went with these Clear Option Cup Holders. These did work great. They folded up when not in use and took large cups or water bottles.

This comes in a single or dual cup holder and will mount in C5's - C7's; https://www.corvettemods.com/C5-C6-C...BoCkMEQAvD_BwE extra deep holes for bottle's or cans. For the OEM cup holder, I use a thin koozy around my water bottle's to make them fit snug.

That is exactly what I had in the C6. The passenger grab handle in the C7 blocks it from being the easy access it was in the C6. Very happy with my modified C7 cup holder. Woks fine.
I like to see my drinks spill, so I put in lights to see better day or night. I haven't found a better one for the c cockpits, so I'm molding one out of a 5" T hick piece of Grey Foam (You should get at a Hobby shop like place)
add a could pieces of velcro
Corvettmods $ 34.95 1/2 hour Useless cup holder , not deep enough for me my foam & Velcro cup holder for 2 " />My trunk divider/sound barrier leaves 12-15" for
my foam & Velcro cup holder for 2
and stick behind the seats. Got a pix of the lights and a pix of my homemade divider/sound barrier that will leave me space between the home made "Wall" and the "Hump" behind the seats.

Reason: typo

I had a dual one in my my C6 and it is now in my C7. But i use it for sunglasses and "stuff".
Cup buddy is great on a C6, but a disaster on a C7.
Plenty of room in the C6, but it interferes with the passenger on the C7.
You cant really reach it on the C7 from the drivers's seat, and I have ape arms.
The cockpit on the C7 doesn't really support this.
Funny, I thought my single Cup Buddy was fine on the C6 with the tall stainless bottle I had used. However when I sold it to a fellow who was going to drive it back to TX his girlfriend was not happy. Her first question was how can I take this out! Slipped it out and let him have it for when he was driving by himself.
Since I always have water with me thought I might buy another but that passenger grab bar is in the way.
Happy with my modified insert that holds a full C7 logo stainless thermos bottle in 1+ "g" turns and stops.
Since I seldom have a passenger used something similar in my C6. But the passenger grab handle makes reaching for it difficult.
There is one for each driver and passenger side. Only had pic of passenger side in C5. I haven't tried in 17 GS yet. Only had car for a few months before storage. Now waiting for car to come out of winter storage so I can try in C7. I can see if only using one that reaching by grab handle could be a hassle. Sometimes the driver side was a pain with large cup in holder on driver side in C5 . I will have to see how it works out in C7 once we get some nice weather.

I used about 2" 3M VHB double sided tape. I applied it over the top of the slip in the cup holder itself, and folded it down. Pressed the insert back in over the VHB and applied a lot of downward pressure to secure it.
