So has anyone come up with a hack to keep the rear camera display on all the time (except when other screen functions are needed)?
Given not-so-great rear and rear side visibility this might be a nice feature in normal driving. In fact I wonder why it isn't standard on all vehicles with a backup camera. (I suspect that there is some government regulation against it, but it really would make sense, I think.)
That sounds like a good idea. My Honda CR-V has a blind spot camera that turns on when you out on the right turn signal. It works great for a full view of that area.
Given the short distance from the driver's position to the rear of the car it seems like nearly everyone behind me is riding my bumper when I look in the rear view mirror........the camera might be a distraction and make me more paranoid.
