Question on CAI

Question on CAI
Seeing the thread announcing the sale pricing on all C7 intakes, I have 3 questions:
1. Which CAI is most popular?
2. Does installing a CAI void warranty
3. Are intakes an easy install or should a shop do it?

Chevrolet has announced a CAI supposedly coming out soon for the Zo6. I assume it will fit the LT1 also and can be dealer installed. I'm guessing no warranty issues with that. Aftermarket CAI warranty issues? I think it depends on the dealer, but I'm quite sure if you grenade your engine and have a CAI GM will deny warranty.
There are many selections on the forum vendors for CAI. Do a search for results and threads on any brand you might be interested in -- forum member results seems to be mixed but very "brand" oriented.
Installation? I haven't done one, but what I understand fairly easy, but can be a PITA with fitment issues.

There are several great options for cold air intakes on the C7. Our most popular systems that we offer are from Halltech and aFe, but prefer the Halltech in regards of power, quality, and availability. I have a link below for all of our options on our store if you want to look into either more in depth.
Installing the intake alone should not effect your GM warranty, but the tuning aspect may if you decide to do so. Either system can install without one and not produce a CEL, but we always recommend tuning to ensure proper air/fuel ratio and to get the most from the modifications. We always encourage customers to contact their service manager to see what they are willing to work with you on in regards to modifications like this.
The intakes are fairly simple on these and one of the easiest mods you can do under the hood for the C7.

Installed an AFE intake on my Z51 and loved it. Added a Borla X pipe for the combo and all smiles

I've got the Halltech and really like it. Easy installation, no CEL's, no voided warranty either.

I added a Vararam on my C7 . The main reason was I had put one on my C5 and later on my C6 and they were excellent and made a difference. I don't know if the one on my C7 does since it's only been a couple of months but the car sounds better and feels better. Just my opinion.

Another option you may want to consider. I went this route and am more than satisfied!
