Remote STARTER not working

Did you lock your doors remotely before you tried to start it remotely? It's been awhile since I've started mine with the remote, but I seem to recall that you have to have doors locked and you have to hold that start button down for a couple of seconds.

Works for me as follows, A8.
Get out of car.
Push lock button twice, horn beeps.
Push and hold remote start.
Car starts.
Other than the locking, make sure no doors or hoods are ajar, that sort of thing.
