I have a 2017 vette and I would like to set the door locks up so that when I exit the car the doors automatically look and I hear a chirp signaling that the alarm is set and I can't open them unless I have the fob with me. My C6 was set up to do this. Can I set this up on a C7?
Easy. Check out page 132 in the (2017) owner's manual under Vehicle Personalization through the Settings menu in the infotainment system. (Not sure all cars have this. Check your owner's manual.) It's called Delayed Door Lock. I have it set all the time.
"Delayed Door Lock
When on, this feature will delay the locking of the doors. To override the delay, press the power door lock switch on the door. Select Off or On."
Coupled with Remote Left in Vehicle Alert," you can't be locked out.

Quite Simple
Go to Settings
Select vehicle
Select lock unlock option
select passive door lock
select on with/without horn
it will lock about 20-30 seconds after the door is shut and you walk away
Horn will sound
to test, approach the car WITHOUT key fob. Doors are locked. Just like the C6.
Unfortunately there are several who say this cannot be done but it was easy to do.
I've tried the procedure described here on my 2016 and I can't get it to automatically lock. It was very easy on the C6.
Walt, I worked, cussed, and tried many times to set the auto locks on my '16. Nothing. Then I thought, hell I'll start the engine to see if that will help. Bingo.
I've got another car that you need to have the engine running just to set the dang clock. That's why I thought about starting the motor.

Well, I've tried every possible combination and there aren't that many combinations and mine just doesn't work. I'll have to have the dealer check it out sometime in the future.
